Yuchen ZHAN

Yuchen is a Chinese artist born in Shanghai in 2003.
In 2023, she went to the UK to study BA Fine Art Painting in Brighton, where she is currently completing her undergraduate studies. She plans to continue pursuing postgraduate study in the UK after graduating in 2026.
Her painting practice explores emotional perception, psychological landscapes and trance-like spatial experiences. Through layering, glazing and wet-on-wet techniques, she constructs suspended visual environments situated between reality and illusion. Motifs such as plants, light sources, fireworks and landscapes recur throughout her work as carriers of memory, attachment and emotional resonance.
