Yuchen ZHAN

Yuchen is a Chinese artist born in Shanghai in 2003.
In 2023, she went to the UK to study for a BA in Fine Art Painting in Brighton, graduating in 2026. She is currently studying for an MA in Fine Art Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London.
Her painting practice explores emotional perception, psychological landscapes and trance-like spatial experiences. Through layering, glazing and wet-on-wet techniques, she constructs suspended visual environments situated between reality and illusion. Motifs such as plants, light sources, fireworks and landscapes recur throughout her work as carriers of memory, attachment and emotional resonance.
